Quarantine 2020!

It has now been 3 weeks since the kids were in school.   We are all adjusting to our new normal and life is just as busy and crazy as ever with 3 kids trying to do school work and keeping the 5 year old happy and out of the way.   In many ways the easiest week was the first one when they would have all been home with the flu anyway - 3 limp kids who just want to lay on the couch and eat jello is definitely an easier group to manage :-)
Oh, and the 2 oldest are watching Dylan and Keira when I'm at work.  Jason has been trying to work at home on any days he doesn't have any direct patient care which has been challenging in our little condo but we are making the best of it and getting out for walks whenever we can.

1. Boston Lot (Ryan stayed home cos of flu)

 2.  The second hike with all 4 kids seemed like it was off to a good start and then Guinness decided to roll in poop (seems like it was some other dogs diarrhea!!)    I was still prepared to go for a nice walk and then Dylan and G collided at full speed which resulted in him crying and have poo smeared all over him - fun times!

Keira is now 6 mo old and getting cuter by the day.   Some photos of her with big bro Dylan.

Not a good photo of her but want to show off her sticky up hair :-)

Ryan, Megan and Dylan had fun making some colored dough for very bright sugar cookies!

The Blizzard of 2013

We finally got a ton of snow.  Fortunately we didn't lose power during the blizzard.  The final snow total during the storm for our town was 27 inches.   Jason was very excited to put the new snow-blower to good use.  We bought it in November and were starting to feel like we had jinxed ourselves.

We had no snow when it first started around noon on Friday.  I took some "before" photos just after the snow began to fall.

The next morning everything was covered!

Ryan and Megan were anxious to go outside but didn't last long in 2 feet of fresh snow.  They had a lot more fun once Jason got a good section of the driveway cleared and they had an area they could actually walk on.

This was what greeted me at the backdoor when I went to let Tia out the next morning.

So I resorted to squeezing her out a narrow space I managed to create next the front door.

View from Megan's room the next day . . half her window was covered.

Dylan was fascinated by the snow blower.

They did build a snowman which I haven't taken a photo of - oops!
We ended the day with a "movie" night and watched Hotel Transylvannia which is definitely a 2 thumbs up for me.

My little scottish lass

Megan may have a future in acting.   We gave the kids the videos for "The Gruffalo" and "The Gruffalo's Child"  for Christmas.   The Gruffalo's Child has a pronounced Scottish accent and Megan has lots of fun repeating some of the lines

5 Months Old

The little dude turned 5 mo today. We decided to celebrate by giving him his first go in the jolly jumper. He has come a long way in the past few months. He has recently started turning over on to his stomach to sleep. He loves going in the exersaucer and really enjoys reading books but his favorite thing by far is anything that involves his big brother or sister. His face lights up when he sees them. He is a very happy sweet natured little boy. He has occasionally slept the whole night which is wonderful. So far it is a random and unpredictable occurance :)

A little finger painting / making hand prints also took place today.

2nd day of school

Ryan and Megan had their first day of school yesterday. In the mad rush of the first day of preschool - which was also my first day back to work and Dylan's first day of daycare - snapping a photo was the furthest thing from my mind.
Ryan is very excited to be back at his preschool with the same teacher that he had in the spring. Megan had been talking about going to school all summer and was really looking forward to going but was very apprehensive on the actual day. She had a great day though and loves her teacher.
She still tells me everyday at the end of school as she gives me a hug "I didn't cry today".

Megan turns 3!

I can't believe how the past 3 years have flown by. We had a princess party for Megan with some of her friends the weekend before the actual day. She liked her purple princess cake!
The cupcake pinata was quite sturdy so in the end Jason busted it open for all the kids.

The actual day was low key with presents before Jason left for work. We had a picnic lunch outside with juice boxes (a big deal in our house :). Megan is still in a pasta for every meal phase so we had spaghetti & cake for dinner. We started a tradition of Megan giving Ryan a present on her birthday and vice versa. Ryan loved his Star Wars lego set and had it built before 10 am, he then started working on Megan's pink legos.
